This Wednesday (tomorrow), join us for April political pub night, at Südblock in Kreuzberg. Pub nights are low-key, social events for progressive Americans and friends in Berlin to get to know each other and converse about the newest additions to the Democratic primary field, or whatever else you’d like. ►Details here.

Our next meeting in May will be the first Tuesday, May 7th, 2019: “Organized Labor’s Role in U.S. Elections” with guest speaker Thomas J. Adams, whose research focuses on the history of American labor, political economy, and social movements as well as New Orleans.

Worried or confused about what you need to do about your U.S. taxes? On Wednesday, May 8th, 2019, the tax info sessionreturns. ►Details & RSVP here(spots are limited!)

Updates

Have you taken our member survey yet?

Thanks to everyone who’s already taken the Democrats Abroad Berlin member survey! If you haven’t, we’d still love to hear from you. Your responses will help us improve our events, our outreach, and communication. Please fill out the survey by Friday, April 19th, 2019. It’s only 9 questions and won’t take more than 5 minutes.

Sponsor a Runner For Democracy!

Democrats Abroad made a tremendous effort in 2018 to get out the vote (GOTV), especially through our use of phonebanking. Our wonderful volunteer callers don’t get paid, but the system we use for phonebanking as well as the platform we use to run the organization cost money. In order to prepare for our GOTV efforts for the 2020 election, consider sponsoring a runner in this year’s “Running for Democracy” half-marathon and 10K runs in Mannheim on May 11th, 2019. Host a Democrats Abroad Berlin meetup!

We’re asking for your help to make more events happen in more parts of Berlin. If you’d like to put together a board game night, a movie club, running group, a podcast-listening meetup, a dinner discussion, or anything else that helps bring Americans living in Berlin together, please get in touch. We’d love to see more diverse get-togethers in all the Berlin neighborhoods — from Zehlendorf to Marzahn and everywhere in-between.

We are excited to be part of the Lesbisch-Schwules Stadtfest(Motzstrassenfest) on July 20 & 21 in Schöneberg. The street festival is an annual highlight for Democrats Abroad Berlin. We will have a booth on both days where we’ll mingle with attendees, sell DA swag, and register Americans abroad to vote. We’re looking for volunteers to help out for shifts of a few hours (or more) over the weekend. It’s a fun festival with a great atmosphere, so grab a friend and sign up for a shift or two together: https://volunteersignup.org/48B78
