A Day Without A Woman – Berlin Solidarity March on March 8th, 2017

Democrats Abroad will be marching in solidarity with the A Day Without a Woman action as a block at the Frauen*kampftag Demonstration on March 8th, 2017 starting at 5pm at Hermannplatz.

Update: We’ll be gathering in front of the McDonalds.

Join us on International Women’s Day to stand up for equality and justice for women, and the freedom to choose. As a continuation of the first Women’s March in January, Democrats Abroad will join together with multiple groups in Berlin to show its support and determination to fight for women’s rights. It is important that we send the message that what happened on January 21st around the world was not a one-time event, but truly the start of a movement.

We want to send a message that we are continuing to stand up for women’s rights. Democrats Abroad Berlin is coming together to show our continued willingness to fight the current administration in their attempts to take away women’s rights, both in the US and abroad. We also want to send a message that we are here to fight with other women from around the world to make sure the struggles that all women face are not ignored. We want to show our support with women around the world who are striking on this day.

Please join us to show your support of women’s rights! We want this to be a positive event for the rights that all women deserve:

Women are equal members of society.
Women have the right to decide what happens to their bodies.
Women have the right to fair and equal pay.
Women have the right to know sexual assault will be appropriately addressed by law officials.
Families have the right to paid parental leave.

International Women’s Day is a day for us to be extra loud!
