Film Screening: Pariah (2011, OmU) – Democrats Abroad Leipzig-Halle

The Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Sachsen (DAIS), together with the GRASSI Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig and American Space Leipzig, is hosting a free screening of the film Pariah in English with German subtitles.
Recipient of the 2011 Sundance Excellence in Cinematography Award, Pariah is a semi-autobiographical coming-out/coming-of-age story. The protagonist, a 17-year-old, African-American New Yorker named Alike, is on a journey to come to terms with, and ultimately embrace, her identity as a lesbian. The event features an introduction by Mascha Lange of the Institute of American Studies Leipzig.
A group of Democrats Abroad Leipzig-Halle members will be at the screening, and we’d love to see you there!
