Overcoming Extremism: Former Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer
October 15, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Michael Signer, former mayor of Charlottesville, VA, was in office when the ‘Unite the Right’ rally took place, the same rally during which a self-identified white supremacist drove into a crowd of counter-protesters, murdering Heather Heyer and injuring 19 others.
Join Democrats Abroad for an intimate and invigorating discussion with Mayor Signer of ‘Communities Overcoming Extremism: The After Charlottesville Project’ at Café Daddy (S Julius-Leber-Brücke) in Schöneberg from 7-9pm on Monday, October 15, 2018.
Signer’s work on overcoming extremism stems from his time as Mayor of Charlottesville, his career as a public scholar writing and teaching about intolerance, and his New York Times op-ed, “Charlottesville Will Move On”
To attend this event, you must RSVP!
