Updates

✅Dialing for Democracy

This Sunday, over 100 callers in 12 countries (including 24 here in Berlin) made an astounding 7109 calls reminding Americans abroad to register to vote and request their ballots. Thanks to all the callers on Sunday and for Thursday’s “Berlin Is Calling” phone banking party.

You can still donate to our Dialing for Democracy campaign to support voter outreach!

Berlin Office Hours for Voter Help

Since we can’t hold in-person events, we’re holding online office hours to help U.S. citizens register to vote and request absentee ballots. The next sessions is on June 29th. Sharing the office hours your American friends and colleagues, so we can reach more potential voters!

Would you like to be part of future voter help office hours? Send Berlin GOTV coordinator Amy Herr a message: gotv@demsinberlin.de

Independence Day Voter Registration

Save the Date! July 4, 2020
Online & in a park near you

Election Day will be here before we know it, so now is the time to make sure that you have requested your absentee ballot for the November elections! Since we can’t have our traditional 4th of July celebration, join us, either online or in a nearby park to request your ballot. What better way to celebrate the U.S. than by making sure you can practice your civic duty by voting to kick out Donald Trump!

Let us know (berlin@democratsabroad.de) if you would like in-person help or online. With the support of our voter registration volunteers, we will offer two options to receive voter assistance: either in-person or online. For the in-person assistance, we will have meeting points in parks throughout Berlin to answer questions and to distribute materials on how to vote from abroad. The online assistance will be on Zoom and individuals with questions can join when they can to ask their questions.

We will decide by Saturday, June 27th if this event will include an in-person option. If we hold any in-person voter assistance, all health regulations and guidelines must be followed. This includes wearing a mask at all times, keeping a distance of 1.5 meters, and there will be no sharing of devices. If voters would like help walking through the ballot request process, they will need to use their own smartphone or tablet to do so. We will not be sharing laptops or other devices.
