We had a big and energized crowd at the monthly meeting last week, the day after the Iowa caucus. Thanks to all the Berliners who came to get involved (see on Instagram). Neukölln & Pankow Kiez meetups also went really well: photos on Twitter. Our stalwart Kiez captains and volunteers will be hosting phone banking events over the next few weeks to encourage fellow Democrats to vote in the Global Presidential Primary. Scroll down ⬇︎ for dates & times.

Mark your calendar on Wednesday, Feb 19th, 2020, for monthly political pub night at Kater und Goldfisch in Wedding. It’s a casual get-together, so stop by to get to know other members, get help with registering to vote, and find out more about getting involved. RSVP & see you there!

The Berlin Women’s Caucus is hosting the first meet & greet of 2020 this Sunday afternoon, Feb 16th. More details here.

Updates

Volunteer at the Global Primary & Training

As you’ve seen on the news, running a primary takes lots of volunteers and support from everyone. Likewise, we need YOUR HELP to make sure voting goes smoothly.

In particular, we’re looking for volunteers to help on Sunday, March 8 in Berlin. If you can support the democratic process for few hours, sign up! Please note: we’re asking that volunteers in Berlin attend a training session on either Feb 24 or March 1.

Campaign Observers for Global Presidential Primary*

The Democrats Abroad global executive committee (the international level of our organization) has contacted all candidate campaigns about the Global Presidential Primary voting locations around the globe and the process of designating campaign observers. Each candidate’s official campaign will have to submit the names of their observers by March 1st, 2020 through that channel.

Organizing for one of the Democratic presidential candidates in Berlin? We’re happy to share a local event or get-together in this email newsletter and on our website. Please submit it here: http://demsinberlin.de/submit-event/

Requesting your absentee ballot

  1. Use our tool votefromabroad.org to request your ballot. You need to do this every calendar year to make sure you’re still on the voter rolls.
  2. Already done? Help a friend to do the same!

If you need help with any of this, we’re happy to lend a hand! Email help@votefromabroad.org and come to any event in Berlin, Potsdam, Leipzig, and Dresden.
