We know you’re getting a lot of emails right now about the 2020 election. This post focuses on how you can get help and make a difference in Berlin.

Have you received your absentee ballot?

You should have your ballot by now. If you haven’t, you need to check your voter registration and fill out a backup ballot. Time is of the essence, get help below ⏳

Need help?

In-Person Voting Help
In Berlin, our local Kiez groups are hosting small, outdoor, in-person voter assistance events (Kreuzberg, Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg, Pankow, and more: full list below).

Get help ASAP — don’t wait! With postal delays and the pandemic, getting and returning your ballot takes time.

Online Voting Help
Drop in at an online live voter assistance session Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 6-10pm (Berlin time), and all day Sundays.

You can also email help@votefromabroad.org.

How are you planning to return your ballot?

If your state requires you to mail back your paper ballot, we have up-to-date advice on how to return your ballot from Germany. After Oct 5, we suggest using a courier service like FedEx or DHL over Deutsche Post to make sure your ballot arrives in time.

If your state allows email or fax return (over half do), we strongly recommend using that method! We have an event this Saturday to help you figure out the scan & fax process, details below.

Make a difference from Berlin

Call Americans abroad to vote!

It’s all getting voters to turn out: get and send back ballots. One of the most effective ways to Democrats Abroad members by calling crucial voters in swing states and where ballots need to be returned by mail. Call to offer a friendly reminder and motivation to a fellow voter!

The more voter registration volunteers and phone bankers, the higher the overseas turnout in November will be. Take the phone banking pledge and commit to calling here.

You can call from home, or join one of our small, in-person phone banking parties. (limited spots, spaced out, ventilation, masks)

Let us know your current voting status

At the bottom of this email, you can click to let us know your current voting status, whether you’ve requested your ballot, returned it, used a backup ballot (Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot), and more.
